This series is designed to help groms learn how to race safely. Groms line up at 5:15pm, 45 minutes before the Prairie City Race Series for adults, and race on their own separate short-track course. Racers will do as many laps as they can in 25 minutes
Any grom who is interested in racing should register, attend the pre-ride, and try a lap. If (s)he does not feel comfortable racing at this point, we will happily refund the entry fee.
Please Note: If you race in the NorCal High School Cycling League, we ask that you limit involvement with this race series to cheering on other groms! NorCal racers are big-time, and this series is designed to help newer groms gain the skills and confidence needed to reach your level!
All races will be held at Prairie City State Recreation Area.
Directions to the Race
Parking is free. Once you enter the park, please follow the signs to the race venue.
Each race is $15. When you register you will pay for "Race Credits." A Race Credit is good at any race of the season, no transfer fees. Credits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and expire at the end of the season.
All Grom racers will get a t-shirt at their first race.
We have custom medals for the series champions.
Custom race plates include the date of each race.
Groms get a 1st - 10th Place sticker for each week they placed in the Top 10.
Series Awards: At the last race of the season we will crown our series chapions calculated by using each Grom's 4 best races. There will be a podium ceremony for the Top 5 in each category, and winners will receive custom Grom awards, a t-shirt, and we'll have mineral water to shake and spray on the podium!
